This window view from downtown Manhattan, Bethune Street looking north, before the dark red building was turned into white condo palace and smokestacks of former Nabisco factory were felled. From 1973 or thereabouts. As the artist completes a digital archive of his work covering five decades or more, look here for flashes from the past. In 2004 Ruta showed his paintings of downtown at Museum of the City of New York.
