ART FOR A CHANGE – Michael Richards

Among the artists working on the 9lst and 92nd floor of the North Tower, a gifted young sculptor, Michael Richards, who spent the night of Sept 10 2001  in the studio to avoid a long trip home to Queens before starting his day job in Manhattan. Many artists with studios in the tower came in evenings and weekends after working hours. But Richards was the only one trapped in the 9/11 attack, along with all his new work. Big ambitious  statues cast in resin and steel, remembering chapters of African-American history.
